What is a zine?

A zine is a collection of works published in book format and sold! While not limited to fandom spaces, most zines usually feature content from specific fandoms. Be My Home will feature writing and art surrounding the NamKook pairing. For more information about who we're looking for on our zine team, check out our about page here!

What is the theme for this zine?

Be My Home features NamKook in domestic settings / domestic AUs! Domestic AUs focus on their day-to-day lives as a couple. For example, these include what it's like to wake up together and make breakfast, what it's like to live together after they've just moved into a new apartment, or even celebrating each other's birthdays.

What is the rating of this zine?

Be My Home will be rated T, which means there will not be any explicit content in the main zine. There will be a digital NSFW side zine if there is enough interest from accepted contributors.

Do the mods have previous experience with zines?

Yes! For more information on who your mods are, feel free to check them out here!

Will this zine be for-profit or charity?

This zine will be for-profit with the option for contributors to donate their shares if they choose to do so.
*NOTE: If a contributor is a minor at the time of share distribution, their share will be automatically donated as we are unable to pay minors for their services. Thank you for understanding!

What charity will donations be going towards?

The chosen organization will be voted on by the zine team at towards the end of the creation period. Once a charity has been decided on, we will announce it on Twitter, so keep an eye out for it!

APPLICATIONS & CONTRIBUTORS

Are minors allowed to apply and participate?

Yes! If you are under the age of 18 and wish to apply, you're more than welcome to! However, when it's time to distribute monetary shares, we will be unable to give you yours, as we are legally unable to pay minors for their work. Your monetary share will automatically be donated to charity!Minors will also not be able to participate in the NSFW side zine.

Will this zine feature invited contributors / guests?

There will be invited contributors! We will be reaching out to potential guests once the interest check concludes.

Are mods allowed to contribute to the zine?

Yes, they will be allowed to! As thanks for helping put the zine together and organize it, mods will be allowed to contribute if they'd like to. While we understand that others may feel like there is one less slot for contributors to be accepted, allowing mods to participate is a good way to show gratitude for their hard work and for being a part of why the zine exists at all in the first place!

Will contributors receive a free copy of the zine?

All contributors are guaranteed a digital copy of the zine! Our main goal, however, is to sell enough to compensate all contributors with full bundles as thanks for contributing their time and efforts.

Can we use old artwork for the zine?

When applying, we expect to see work you've already completed! You're not required to create anything new for your application, although you can do so if you wish to. However, if accepted into Be My Home, we expect brand new work – something that you create specifically for the zine! This shouldn't be something you've already created.

Once the zine finishes, will I still have the rights to my work?

Yes! Once the mods give the okay, you're more than welcome to do what you like with your work! However, we ask that while the zine is still actively going through applications, its creation period, sales, etc, that you do not share, post, or sell your work until the mods have given you the green light! This includes but isn't limited to streaming, Patreon exclusives, or posting sneak peeks on social media, unless otherwise specified by a mod.

Will merch artists have to produce the merch themselves?

Not at all! If accepted as a merch artist, you are not required to produce or supply the merchandise that you'll be working on. The mods will have already decided on the manufacturers, and will be responsible for ordering and handling the items. Your role is to just work on your lovely art for it – the mods will handle the rest!

Will there be a color palette for the zine?

There will be a color palette for merch artists and the cover! The color palette can be found here: (x)
You won't need to use these color values exactly, just consider them as a guide!

Are poly ships featuring NamKook allowed?

Poly ships will not be included in this zine! Be My Home is designated to focus on specifically Namjoon and Jungkook.

How many contributors will you be accepting?

We will be accepting 9 writers, 24 page artists and 5 merch artists (including guests).

Will collaborations be allowed?

If two contributors would like to collaborate on the same idea (ex. one artist, one writer), then they're more than welcome to!

Do I need to join Discord?

We will be asking all contributors to join the Discord server to stay up to date with all relevant information pertaining to the zine! However, you are not required to chat or socialize in the server if you don't wish to do so. We only ask that you join the server so we can update everyone all at once and have a centralized hub for information.

Be My Home is a fanzine focused on celebrating NamKook in a domestic setting. Domestic AUs feature a pairing in their day to day lives, and usually revolve around feel-good content and lots of fluff! Think of late night studying in college or NamKook making breakfast together in the mornings.This zine will focus on writing and art with contributors brought on through an application process. While there are no sections in the zine, all works will be romantic in nature, SFW, and will focus on the Namjoon x Jungkook pairing.Be My Home is planned to be a 6 x 9 zine with the inclusion of merch artists to help create tiered bundles and stretch goals.
